Lower back pain Management Program

The lower back pain management program will consist of 2 hours per week for 7 weeks.

It has been based on latest evidence from randomised clinical trials that investigated the influence of CBT for people with low back pain (Hansen et al., 2010; Lamb et al., 2010).

 

Day 1
Session 1: Understanding back pain
Session 2: Learning to control your back pain through pacing techniques
Day 5
Session 1:  The art of distraction from your back pain
Session 2:  Being mindful about your back pain
Day 2
Session 1: Sleep tips
Session 2: Controlling back pain through slowed breathing
Day 6
Session 1:  Fear and back pain
Session 2:  Controlling the way you think about your back pain
Day 3
Session 1: Reducing back pain through exercise
Session 2: Reducing back pain through your diet
Day 7
Session 1: Problem solving and back pain
Session 2: Developing resilience to cope with your back pain
Day 4
Session 1: Understanding stress and its effects on your back pain
Session 2: Learning to reduce your back pain through visualisation
