Warwick initially trained as a teacher and spent some time teaching in Papua New Guinea. He then gained further qualifications by completing a B.A and subsequently completing a full year's training as a counsellor. In 1974 Warwick was appointed as a School Counsellor and commenced working as a psychologist. To further pursue his interests in psychology Warwick completed a Master of Letters at the University of New England in Abnormal and Therapeutic Psychology. He continued working within the area of Educational Psychology whilst simultaneously commencing in private practice in 1981.

Warwick was amongst the first group of students to be accepted into the inaugural training program in Clinical Neuropsychology in New South Wales and completed this qualification in 1993. As a result Warwick joined the Central Coast Area Health Service as a Clinical Neuropsychologist in the area of Rehabilitation and Aged Care in early 1994. Warwick has also taken his extensive experience and training into his private practice and is well respected within the medico / legal professions.
